RWNZ Conference 2013

Have just returned from a special three days in Wellington, attending our annual Romance Writers Conference. I had particular pleasure in pitching

to a most supportive response and in the excellent feedback to the ‘cold reads’ that I sent in anonymously.  It is always worth taking the opportunity to present yourself and your work on occasions like this. There is nothing better than a ‘face to face’ meeting and the immediate response. Impersonal emails and paper correspondence can never equal it.

A wonderful highlight was the raffle prize I won – breakfast with the romantic suspense author, Alison Brennan. She is a delightful person and a brilliant writer.

Also I was fortunate in sharing a table at the Awards Dinner with Shirley Jump – what an inspirational speaker she is – and with one of the Pacific Hearts Awards super stars – Jo Fereday. She not only came second but won Readers’ Choice which in my opinion is the best prize of all. What a vindication for one’s work.

The photo here shows me in the middle, Shirley Jump to my right and the talented Jo Fereday to my left. Look out for her work in print before too long.
